The task:
Berlin 2023: The food business is a stacked one in the delivery capital. 23 Michelin stars. Two top 50 places in the gastronomy world rankings. A new market hall pops up every week. Business is booming - especially for those who know how to market themselves well. For honest Berlin restaurants, which have always concentrated purely on cooking - not so much.
The idea:
Instead of competing with other delivery services in signing competitions for the hottest new openings, Together with Uber Eats we decided to turn the kebab skewer around. And beat the hype at its own game to give the OGs of Berlin's snack culture some of the precious attention that can be generated around anything - if you know how.
Streetwear meets street food.
We teamed up with THE streetwear store in Berlin and created a limited capsule collection that turned local restaurants from NPCs into "main characters" in the local street food business overnight. Dropped at a real Berlin streetwear party with more than 1000 influential attendees - Uber Eats voucher included! On top of that, Uber Eats shared its advertising space with selected Berlin originals and helped them achieve unknown reach. And it worked: We created a little... hype. And an increase in 19% of Berliners* willingness to use Uber Eats.
